Lead Software Engineer, Murex & Derivatives
Overview
You will own the Murex ecosystem for investment reporting, serving 2.3 million customers with real-time data flows. You lead a team of 5+ engineers to modernize our derivatives platform. Your stack includes Murex, SQL Server, AWS Glue, and Kubernetes, with integration across Java and Python. This role combines deep Murex expertise with data engineering and leadership, driving STP and regulatory reporting.
What You'll Do9
- 1Design and develop Murex-based solutions for Front Office, Risk, Back Office, and Datamart, using MxML and APIs.
- 2Build integrations between Murex and downstream systems, including SQL Server, Oracle, and SSIS pipelines.
- 3Translate business requirements into scalable solutions using Murex components, ETL frameworks, and reporting tools.
- 4Develop Datamart reporting solutions, covering schemas, feeders, batches, and reconciliation routines.
- 5Optimize data pipelines with AWS Glue and Control-M to move trade and position data.
- 6Support regulatory and management reports with SSRS, SQL, and Excel VBA.
- 7Resolve production issues involving Murex workflows, Datamart loads, and integration breaks.
- 8Lead design sessions and mentor developers on Murex practices and coding standards.
- 9Drive automation and AI-assisted development with Kiro to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Requirements9
- 15+ years in software engineering with Java, .NET/C#, or SQL.
- 2Hands-on Murex development experience in derivatives modules.
- 3Experience integrating Murex with APIs, ETL, and batch orchestration.
- 4Strong SQL Server or Oracle skills, including stored procedures and performance tuning.
- 5Experience with SSIS, AWS Glue, or Control-M for data integration.
- 6Reporting with SSRS, BI tools, or Excel VBA/macros.
- 7Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
- 8Understanding of derivatives products like FX, swaps, and options.
- 9Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
