Overview
You will own the end-to-end technical design of Salesforce solutions for the State of Ohio's Department of Children and Youth, spanning Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Public Sector Solutions (PSS). Your work impacts 3 openings, with 1 hybrid and 2 remote roles, collaborating closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership. You will set the architectural standards, develop custom applications using Apex, Lightning Web Components, and OmniStudio, and ensure long-term stability and security of the ecosystem. This role stands out for its blend of hands-on development and strategic architecture, with direct influence on statewide child welfare systems.
What You'll Do10
- 1Design Salesforce solutions across Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Public Sector Solutions in the first 90 days, delivering a scalable architecture blueprint.
- 2Develop custom applications using Apex classes, Triggers, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and SOQL/SOSL to meet business requirements.
- 3Build OmniStudio components such as Flexcards, Omniscripts, DataRaptors, and Integration Procedures to streamline case management.
- 4Translate business requirements into scalable technical designs, ensuring alignment with platform capabilities and enterprise architecture.
- 5Lead code reviews and provide technical guidance, enforcing design principles and security standards across the development team.
- 6Oversee integrations with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, and data pipelines, ensuring data consistency.
- 7Conduct impact assessments for new features and platform updates, mitigating risks to system stability.
- 8Optimize system performance, data integrity, and security controls, including role hierarchy and sharing rules.
- 9Support deployment strategies with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and environment management.
- 10Act as a subject matter expert in requirement workshops and design reviews, influencing decisions across functional teams.
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 25+ years designing and implementing large-scale Salesforce solutions, with a focus on Public Sector Solutions.
- 3Strong knowledge of Salesforce configuration, Apex, Lightning Web Components, APIs, and integration frameworks.
- 4Experience with complex data modeling, security design, and performance optimization in multi-org environments.
- 5Proficiency with DevOps tools, CI/CD, version control, and release management.
- 6Salesforce Developer Certifications (PDI/PDII) required; Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or Application Architect preferred.
- 7Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions.
- 8Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a collaborative mindset for cross-functional teams.
