Lead Principal Mechanical Engineer
Overview
You will own development of cutting edge surgical device at fast growing startup. Collaborate directly with co founders to design test clinical prototype. Lead product development balancing clinical and engineering priorities. Grow into leadership role such as VP of Engineering. Work across preclinical studies clinician interfaces and fundraising.
What You'll Do9
- 1Design Build Scale Debug Drive Own Scale Ship
- 2Develop smart microinvasive needle integrating precision mechanics MEMS electronics microfluidics ultrasound physics
- 3Lead product development while managing tradeoffs between clinical requirements and engineering constraints
- 4Manage mechanical fabrication lifecycle from concept to manufacturing partner selection
- 5Perform high precision analysis using Matlab and Python
- 6Conduct FEM modeling of complex systems
- 7Establish strong relationships with clinical collaborators
- 8Contribute to fundraising efforts as early senior employee
- 9Drive cross functional integration of electrical mechanical and fluid systems
Requirements10
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 25+ years experience with Solidworks and Fusion 360
- 33-5 seasons of leadership in regulated product development
- 4BS/MS/PhD in mechanical engineering or related field
- 5Strong written and verbal communication skills
- 6High level of emotional intelligence and relationship management abilities
- 7Extensive experience with fabrication approaches and material tradeoffs
- 8Proficiency with CAD tools and mechanical simulation software
- 9Ability to thrive in high growth startup environment
- 10Desire to grow into executive leadership position
