Lead Mobile Performance Engineer Performance
Overview
Polymarket seeks a Lead Mobile Performance Engineer to own mobile performance at scale. You will set direction for mobile performance, establish standards and systems that keep the product fast at scale, and shape how performance is approached across iOS and Android. This role drives high-traffic mobile product excellence.
What You'll Do11
- 1Own mobile performance end-to-end including startup time rendering performance and runtime efficiency across Polymarket`s mobile platform
- 2Set technical direction define architecture standards and tooling for memory management rendering pipelines network efficiency and background processing
- 3Optimize critical path identify and eliminate bottlenecks in app startup screen transitions real-time data rendering and network request handling across iOS and Android
- 4Drive network and caching strategy design efficient data fetching caching and synchronization architectures to minimize latency and maintain responsiveness under varying network conditions
- 5Build performance observability instrument real user monitoring crash reporting frame rate tracking and synthetic testing for continuous visibility into performance regressions
- 6Establish benchmarks budgets and standards that keep performance a first-class concern as the product and mobile team grow
- 7Lead mobile performance engineering at significant scale across iOS Android or both
- 8Demonstrate proficiency in Swift and/or Kotlin with deep understanding of mobile runtimes rendering systems and OS scheduling
- 9Implement real user monitoring frame rate profiling and observability systems that surface issues before users notice them
- 10Apply a rigorous measurement-driven approach profiling instrumenting and proving performance solutions
- 11Provide technical leadership raising the performance bar across a codebase influencing broader engineering teams
Requirements11
- 1Deep experience in mobile performance engineering at significant scale across iOS Android or both
- 2Strong expertise in rendering memory management network optimization background processing and app startup
- 3Proficiency in Swift and/or Kotlin with knowledge of mobile runtimes rendering systems and OS scheduling
- 4Familiarity with real user monitoring frame rate profiling and observability systems
- 5Rigorous measurement-driven approach using profiling instrumentation and proof based problem solving
- 6Technical leadership experience setting direction raising the bar and influencing engineering teams
- 7Background in fintech or other data intensive consumer mobile products
- 8Experience with live market feeds or trading products on mobile
- 9Commitment to delivering instant reliable experiences for every user worldwide
- 10Ability to work onsite in New York City
