Own the full operation of a Midwood laboratory with 20 staff across three shifts, reporting to the Laboratory Director. What You'll Do7
- 1Oversee daily lab operations, managing a 20-person team across three shifts to ensure uninterrupted testing in chemistry and hematology.
- 2Direct staff in point of care testing and clinical lab functions, maintaining NYS licensure standards and ASCP best practices.
- 3Troubleshoot and revise lab policies to keep procedures current and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- 4Lead inspection readiness, coordinating documentation and corrective actions to address audit findings.
- 5Manage staffing schedules, training, and competency assessments to sustain high performance across shifts.
- 6Collaborate with the Laboratory Director to align operational goals with organizational objectives.
- 7Implement process improvements that reduce turnaround time and error rates in core lab workflows.
Requirements7
- 13-5+ years as a Lab Manager or supervisor in a core laboratory, focusing on chemistry and hematology.
- 2Current NYS Clinical Technologist licensure required.
- 3Proven experience supervising staff, conducting inspections, and managing daily lab operations.
- 4ASCP certification preferred, but not required.
- 5Background in medical technology and laboratory management.
- 6Experience in point of care testing and clinical laboratory functions.
- 7Ability to manage a 20-person team across rotating shifts.
