Kiosk Field Service Technician, Electrical & Digital Signage
Overview
Field Service Technician to maintain low-voltage electrical and digital signage hardware for IKE Smart City kiosks across Baltimore. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, testing, and light repairs on high-visibility public assets. The role supports local wayfinding, transit info, and social services through point-of-service hardware used by tens of thousands daily. You’ll collaborate with remote support to diagnose issues and ensure kiosks stay clean, functional, and visually appealing.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and perform routine functional testing of touchscreen, sensors, cameras, audio, and outdoor displays to ensure optimal user experience
- 2Collaborate with Remote Support to diagnose field issues, report offline status, and implement corrective actions
- 3Repair and maintain hardware through cosmetic touch-ups, decal/label repairs, electronic component swaps, basic networking, and light low-voltage electrical work
- 4Document service tickets, asset serial numbers, and before/after photos using a mobile field app
- 5Perform routine cleaning, graffiti removal, and aesthetic maintenance to keep kiosks presentable for public use
- 6Maintain safety and operational standards while working in outdoor urban environments
- 7Assist with inventory checks and ensure proper parts are available for scheduled maintenance
- 8Follow established processes and safety protocols to minimize downtime for public assets
- 9Provide professional, on-brand interactions with city personnel and the public
- 10Report issues and trends to improve kiosk reliability and availability
Requirements8
- 1High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 21+ years in field service, facilities maintenance, low-voltage electrical, or digital signage maintenance (preferred)
- 3Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, active auto insurance
- 4Ability to work outdoors in varying weather, stand/bend for extended periods, and lift up to 60 lbs
- 5Basic low-voltage electronics experience and electrical troubleshooting
- 6Experience with computer networking troubleshooting and standard hand/power tools
- 7Professional demeanor when working on public sidewalks or around city personnel
- 8All necessary tools provided by the company
