Junior Database Administrator EHS Technologies Corporation
Overview
We seek a motivated detail-oriented Junior Database Administrator to join our Information Technology team. This role supports administration monitoring maintenance and optimization of enterprise database environments while ensuring data integrity security and availability. You will collaborate with senior database administrators and application developers to support database operations perform backups and recovery troubleshoot performance issues and contribute to database solution design and implementation.
What You'll Do26
- 1Install configure administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases and other Database Management Systems
- 2Monitor database performance and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal availability and reliability
- 3Conduct database performance tuning including query optimization and index maintenance
- 4Perform and validate database backups restores and disaster recovery procedures
- 5Monitor transaction logs database health storage utilization and system performance
- 6Assist in designing implementing and maintaining database security permissions and access controls
- 7Develop modify and troubleshoot SQL queries stored procedures views and functions
- 8Support database replication and synchronization between SQL Servers and remote locations
- 9Review database designs and recommend enhancements to improve performance scalability and reliability
- 10Assist developers and system analysts in creating and maintaining SQL and web-based database applications
- 11Maintain technical documentation database standards policies and standard operating procedures
- 12Audit and update database records using SQL commands while ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- 13Support database migration patching upgrades and maintenance activities
- 14Participate in database project planning and scheduling
- 15Provide technical support for database-related incidents and troubleshoot production issues
- 16Assist with Oracle database administration monitoring and daily health checks
- 17Support database backup recovery and Data Pump export import operations
- 18Monitor database performance and assist with troubleshooting Oracle errors
- 19Create and maintain database users roles and privileges
- 20Perform schema refreshes between Production Test and Development environments
- 21Monitor tablespace usage storage growth and archive logs
- 22Write and maintain SQL and shell scripts for automation
- 23Support database security auditing and compliance requirements
- 24Maintain database documentation SOPs and operational runbooks
- 25Work with developers to troubleshoot database-related issues and support application deployments
- 26Participate in on-call support and maintenance windows as needed
Requirements16
- 1Associates degree in Computer Science Information Technology Information Systems or related field
- 22-4 years experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server or other relational database systems
- 3Experience writing SQL queries for data retrieval and modification
- 4Familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio SSMS
- 5Understanding of relational database concepts normalization primary keys foreign keys and indexing
- 6Basic knowledge of backup and recovery procedures
- 7Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- 8Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 9Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- 10Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline
- 11Experience with SQL Server Agent replication or database automation
- 12Familiarity with Microsoft Azure SQL Database or cloud database technologies
- 13Knowledge of PowerShell scripting or database automation
- 14Experience with database performance monitoring tools
- 15Familiarity with reporting tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services SSRS or Power BI
- 16Security+ Microsoft SQL Server Azure Database or related technical certifications
