Journeyman Electrician - LMI
Overview
Lead a small field crew for highway and roadway lighting repairs throughout Prince George’s County Maryland. This hands-on leadership role involves supervising a one- to two-person crew and ensuring efficient safe completion of electrical services and lighting maintenance. The ideal candidate works independently and takes ownership of field assignments.
What You'll Do12
- 1Lead day-to-day field operations for roadway lighting repair and maintenance
- 2Supervise and train a one- to two-person crew
- 3Troubleshoot and repair highway and roadway lighting systems
- 4Work on electrical services underground wiring and lighting circuits
- 5Locate underground electrical faults and install repair pole-mounted lighting equipment
- 6Install repair lighting fixtures wiring conduit and related components
- 7Read and interpret blueprints schematics maps manuals specifications and work orders
- 8Use testing equipment hand tools power tools and two-handed tools safely
- 9Operate bucket trucks lifts trenchers backhoes and lift trucks as needed
- 10Maintain accurate records of work performed materials used and job status
- 11Follow NEC standards work zone safety requirements and company safety procedures
- 12Coordinate with managers inspectors customers and field personnel
Requirements5
- 1Current clean driver’s license Journeyman Electrical License required High school diploma GED or equivalent minimum 5 years of electrical experience
- 2Minimum 5 years of electrical experience roadway lighting experience preferred ability to work independently and strong leadership skills
- 3Preferred certifications Bucket truck experience MOT/TCM certification and Commercial industrial roadway or outdoor lighting systems experience with underground electrical troubleshooting
- 4Skills Ability to identify conductor colors strong troubleshooting skills for lighting and electrical systems knowledge of NEC standards and safe work procedures
- 5Physical Requirements Ability to bend stoop squat climb kneel balance push pull reach overhead lift up to 51 pounds climb ladders and work from aerial lifts good vision
