Overview
Own nightly janitorial operations for a 2 billion square foot facility services provider, directing a crew of 3-8 across a distribution center. Report to the Zone Manager, coordinate daily tasks, and resolve safety or quality issues on the floor. This role combines hands-on cleaning with leadership, offering a path to Supervisor for proven performers.
What You'll Do8
- 1Direct crew assignments each shift, prioritizing tasks for OSHA compliance and client satisfaction.
- 2Inspect completed work against KBS standards, correcting deficiencies before client walkthroughs.
- 3Train new hires on chemical handling and equipment use, following safety data sheets.
- 4Coordinate with the Zone Manager on staffing and scheduling, covering absences as needed.
- 5Motivate the crew through positive feedback and hands-on example, addressing performance issues directly.
- 6Log time and attendance in KBSPresence app, ensuring accurate records for payroll.
- 7Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies and request reorders before stock runs out.
- 8Respond to client requests promptly, documenting issues and resolutions in shift reports.
Requirements6
- 11-3 years in a lead or supervisory role, preferably in janitorial or distribution center operations.
- 2Ability to read and follow OSHA safety rules, chemical labels, and maintenance instructions.
- 3Experience with floor care equipment such as burnishers or auto-scrubbers is a plus.
- 4Strong customer service skills with a friendly, positive demeanor.
- 5Willingness to work Monday-Friday from 7:30pm to 2:30am in Columbus, OH.
- 6Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for 8-hour shifts occasionally.
