iOS Engineer II, Uber Trip Experience
Overview
As an iOS Engineer II on the Earner Trip Experience (TripX) team, you will own user-facing features that guide millions of Earners from pickup to dropoff. You will build with Swift and Objective-C, working within Uber's global scale mobile infrastructure. You will partner with senior engineers, product managers, designers, and data scientists to deliver high-quality experiences. This role offers hands-on exposure to production debugging and system architecture, setting you apart from typical feature work.
What You'll Do5
- 1Build iOS features using Swift and Objective-C that support Earner on-trip workflows from pickup to dropoff.
- 2Partner with senior engineers, product managers, designers, and data scientists to deliver high-quality user experiences.
- 3Write clean, testable, and maintainable code while learning Uber's iOS architecture and development standards.
- 4Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and team rituals to continuously improve engineering quality.
- 5Debug and resolve production issues to improve app stability and user trust.
Requirements8
- 12+ years of experience developing iOS applications using Swift and/or Objective-C.
- 2Solid understanding of iOS fundamentals including UIView/UIViewController lifecycle, Auto Layout, and app state management.
- 3Experience using Git and collaborating through code reviews in a team environment.
- 4Strong learning mindset and interest in building products that support real-world workflows.
- 5Web application development experience (or willingness to learn Web development).
- 6Experience with modern iOS development practices.
- 7Familiarity with consuming Backend APIs and handling performance, reliability, or crash issues.
- 8Exposure to experimentation, analytics, or data-informed product development.
Salary Insight
$171 - $190k per year
