Overview

This role owns inpatient and clinic interventional cardiology coverage in a hospital setting with day shifts and rotating call. You will join a clinical team including 2 permanent physicians, 2 NPs, MAs, RNs, and specialists in EP and general cardiology. The position balances hands on patient care with consult and echocardiogram interpretation. The assignment starts in December and continues on a locum tenens basis.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Build and maintain inpatient rounding coverage across adult patients
  • 2Deliver interventional cardiology procedures and general cardiology care during clinic and inpatient visits
  • 3Interpret echocardiograms and contribute to patient management decisions
  • 4Collaborate with the cardiology team to ensure seamless continuity of care
  • 5Support rotating call responsibilities on a one week on, one week off basis
  • 6Participate in care coordination and documentation for the adult patient population
  • 7Provide on site coverage during day shifts from 8 00 AM to 4 30 PM
  • 8Engage in multidisciplinary rounds and maintain high quality care metrics

Requirements9

  • 1Board certification in Interventional Cardiology is required
  • 2Interventional cardiology experience is required for this assignment
  • 3Must be eligible for or possess clinical privileges in Indianapolis
  • 4Clinical proficiency in inpatient rounding and echocardiogram interpretation
  • 5Experience supporting a full cardiology care team in a hospital and clinic setting
  • 6Ability to work a rotating one week on, one week off call schedule
  • 7Strong communication and collaboration skills with nursing and administrative staff
  • 8Locum tenens or temporary assignment experience preferred
  • 9Physician license or credentialing in Indiana preferred
