You will own the full therapy lifecycle for adult and geriatric inpatients at Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital, handling caseloads from initial evaluation to discharge. What You'll Do8

  • 1Assess patient conditions and implement treatment plans per diagnosis and Physical Therapy Code of Ethics for adult and geriatric populations.
  • 2Document initial evaluations, daily flow sheets, weekly progress notes, and discharge summaries on schedule.
  • 3Delegate tasks to physical therapy assistants and aides while supervising their work.
  • 4Coordinate and manage a full treatment caseload, balancing multiple patients daily.
  • 5Report at rehab team conferences, treating team conferences, and family team conferences to align care plans.
  • 6Educate patients, families, and staff on rehabilitation techniques and home programs.
  • 7Adhere to hospital policies and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and orderly workspace.
  • 8Drive quality improvement by assisting with continuous quality improvement activities and equipment maintenance.

Requirements7

  • 1Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in physical therapy from an APTA-accredited program.
  • 2Current licensure by the Board of Allied Health Professionals in Massachusetts or active application.
  • 3BLS certification for Adult, Child, and Infant resuscitation.
  • 42+ years experience in adult rehabilitation and geriatric care.
  • 5Knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan, from adolescents to geriatrics.
  • 6Demonstrated pursuit of continuing education in physical therapy.
  • 7APTA membership in Massachusetts or New Hampshire preferred.
