Information Systems Security Officer
Overview
TSTC seeks a contingent full-time Information Systems Security Officer to support a new contract at Customs & Border Patrol. The ISSO will create revise document and maintain security policies while developing and implementing security plans to protect sensitive data. Review client information security systems and recommend improvements. This role differs by focusing on federal agency collaboration and compliance with NIST standards.
What You'll Do11
- 1Create and update security policies and procedures for federal systems
- 2Design security plans to preserve data integrity across networks
- 3Assess existing information security systems and suggest enhancements
- 4Maintain documentation for all security-related tasks and compliance requirements
- 5Collaborate with project managers and product owners to coordinate security initiatives
- 6Drive continuous monitoring and remediation activities using Microsoft Project
- 7Communicate risk assessments and mitigation strategies to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- 8Ensure NIST compliance through proactive security control evaluation
- 9Perform audits of security controls and provide written analysis
- 10Work independently in a fast-paced multi-team environment
- 11Develop solutions for protecting classified information
Requirements10
- 1Minimum 4+ years experience as an ISSO supporting federal systems
- 2Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- 3Proficiency in Microsoft Project for planning and tracking
- 4Experience with NIST compliance frameworks
- 5Strong analytical abilities for risk identification and prioritization
- 6Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 7Ability to work in high-pressure environments with multiple stakeholders
- 8Security clearance and ability to pass background checks
- 9Experience with audit processes for security controls
- 10Familiarity with federal information security standards
