Overview

What You'll Do9

  • 1Teach HVAC theory and lab sessions using the provided curriculum, emphasizing refrigerant recovery and electrical troubleshooting.
  • 2Demonstrate brazing and ductwork fabrication in the fully equipped facility, coaching students on proper tool use.
  • 3Deliver NATE-aligned lesson plans, adapting to student pace and learning styles to ensure comprehension.
  • 4Monitor student performance on quizzes and lab projects, providing written feedback that guides improvement.
  • 5Collaborate with faculty on curriculum updates, integrating smart thermostat and VRF system trends.
  • 6Prepare students for EPA 608 certification and job interviews, conducting mock skill assessments.
  • 7Conduct safety briefings and enforce OSHA standards during all lab sessions.
  • 8Document student attendance and grades in Canvas, ensuring timely submission.
  • 9Host weekly office hours to answer student questions and review challenging concepts.

Requirements7

  • 13+ years installing, maintaining, or repairing residential and commercial HVAC systems.
  • 2High school diploma or GED; trade school or apprenticeship completion preferred.
  • 3Working knowledge of refrigerants, electrical circuits, and load calculations.
  • 4Strong verbal communication to explain technical concepts to beginners.
  • 5Comfort leading lab groups and providing hands-on guidance.
  • 6Commitment to continuous learning; will train on LMS and teaching methods.
  • 7Teaching or mentoring experience a plus, but not required.
