As an EVS Tech II at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, you will own the cleanliness and sanitation of patient rooms, offices, and public areas during the second shift (3 PM-11:30 PM), ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff. What You'll Do10
- 1Clean and maintain patient rooms, offices, and public areas, collecting trash, changing bed linens, and sanitizing surfaces.
- 2Follow isolation and contact precautions as per policy, using PPE appropriately.
- 3Stock supplies in assigned areas, ensuring availability of paper items and other essentials.
- 4Maintain housekeeping cart and equipment in clean working condition, storing them properly.
- 5Promote safety by using wet floor signs and never leaving carts unattended.
- 6Use chemicals safely by diluting to correct ratios and labeling containers properly.
- 7Notify supervisor of equipment repairs and report safety hazards to the manager.
- 8Communicate issues and incomplete schedules to the supervisor, proactively addressing deficiencies.
- 9Build positive relationships with hospital personnel while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- 10Complete tasks on time and participate in continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements5
- 11-3 years of environmental services experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting (preferred).
- 2Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- 3Effective communication with patients, visitors, and staff.
- 4Proficiency with department tracking and communication tools.
- 5Ability to work independently.
