Overview
As a Host at Mellow Mushroom, you own the guest's first impression and manage the flow of the dining room. You greet every guest with a warm smile, direct them to their seats, and keep tables cleared and reset for the next party. You become the communication hub, relaying volume levels to Management and Staff to keep service smooth. This role offers a flexible schedule and the chance to grow into a To Go Host, all while working in a fun, art-filled environment.
What You'll Do6
- 1Greet each guest warmly and direct them to the designated seating system, managing the restaurant layout
- 2Clear and reset tables promptly to keep the dining area ready for incoming guests
- 3Communicate volume levels and wait times to Management and Staff in real time
- 4Assist with To Go orders by entering and exiting the building to deliver food to guests' cars
- 5Operate handheld payment devices and handle cash transactions accurately when needed
- 6Support regular Hosts by multitasking and stepping in as needed during peak hours
Requirements9
- 11+ years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a restaurant
- 2Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs frequently
- 3Standing, bending, and walking for the entire workday
- 4Demonstrated math and communication skills
- 5Pleasant phone voice and etiquette for handling To Go orders
- 6Excellent menu knowledge or ability to learn quickly
- 7Team player with a sense of humor and a smile that comes easily
- 8Ability to work well in a group and under some stress
- 9Capable of operating handheld payment devices and cash registers
