Overview
This host position owns the guest experience at American Social Tampa. You'll greet 100+ daily guests, manage the waitlist, and coordinate seating with servers and managers. The role uses OpenTable for reservations. You'll maintain the host area and lobby sanitation standards. This role stands out for its hands-on involvement in both front and back of house teamwork.
What You'll Do10
- 1Greet guests as they enter and seat them according to the seating system
- 2Maintain the waiting list and notify guests when their table is ready
- 3Utilize OpenTable to manage reservations and optimize guest flow
- 4Communicate table availability and special requests with servers and managers
- 5Coordinate with Table Assistants and Bussers to ensure quick table turnover
- 6Stock host area with menus, silverware, and business cards
- 7Inspect restrooms and lobby floors for cleanliness and address issues
- 8Answer calls for directions, hours, and take-out orders using POS
- 9Assist with stocking, bussing, sweeping, and refilling water glasses
- 10Support maintenance by cleaning windows, emptying trash, and rolling silverware
Requirements9
- 118+ years old
- 2Available for late night shifts until 2-3 AM
- 3Alcohol Awareness Certification like ServSafe or TIPS
- 4Food handling certificate
- 5Fluent in English (speak, read, write)
- 6Ability to lift 30 lbs
- 7Stand for 4+ hours per shift
- 8Work weekends and holidays
- 9Food and beverage knowledge to answer menu questions
