Home Health Aide (HHA) - Sacramento
Overview
Provide personal healthcare and related services to clients in their homes, working under the direction of a registered nurse. You will follow the Aide Plan of Care to support personal hygiene, ambulation, exercise, safe transfers, and nutrition. Report changes in patient condition and promote a safe, respectful environment. You will complete documentation, practice infection control, and attend 12 hours of in-services per year. This role requires a current CPR certification and a valid driver's license with insured automobile.
What You'll Do9
- 1Deliver direct patient care under RN supervision, including personal hygiene, ambulation, exercise, and safe transfers per the Aide Plan of Care.
- 2Document care provided and observations in a timely manner.
- 3Apply infection control principles to prevent the spread of disease.
- 4Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment that respects patient privacy and property.
- 5Assist patients with proper nutrition and adequate fluid intake.
- 6Report any changes in patient condition to the supervising RN promptly.
- 7Communicate positively and respectfully with patients, families, and team members.
- 8Attend 12 hours of in-services per year to maintain competency and professional growth.
- 9Promote agency philosophy and administrative policies to ensure quality care.
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma preferred.
- 21+ year experience in the last 24 months as a Home Health Aide or Nursing Assistant in a hospital, nursing home, or home health agency, or completion of a CNA or CHHA program within the last 24 months.
- 3Ability to read and write in English and follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- 4Current CPR certification and proof of Hepatitis profile.
- 5Valid driver's license and insured automobile in good working order per state/organization requirements.
- 6Demonstrated interest in the welfare of ill and elderly.
- 7Ability to work flexibly, travel locally, and handle exposure to weather, blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
- 8Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and move patients.
- 9Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to utilize durable medical equipment in the home.
- 10Organized and resourceful self-starter with strong teamwork and communication skills.
