Heavy Equipment Truck Driver, Local CDL A - Home Nights & OT
Overview
Own local CDL A routes hauling heavy equipment for telecommunications projects in Detroit area. Lead safe operation of tandem axle trucks and secure loads at local job sites. Collaborate with teams, learn heavy equipment operations, and have opportunities for overtime and weekend work. This role is onsite with home nightly schedule and regional downtime minimized.
What You'll Do10
- 1Drive CDL Class A trucks with tandem axle trailers to local sites
- 2Safely operate automatic transmission trucks on local routes
- 3Secure loads, inspect equipment, and assist with loading
- 4Occasionally lift 50+ lbs and perform flagging duties as needed
- 5Maintain compliance with DOT and company safety policies
- 6Document trip logs and conduct pre-trip inspections
- 7Coordinate with site personnel to schedule delivery windows
- 8Provide exceptional customer service to clients on site
- 9Assist with equipment maintenance as needed
- 10Report safety hazards and incidents promptly
Requirements10
- 1Valid CDL Class A License
- 2DOT Medical Card
- 3Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- 4Tankers endorsement preferred
- 5No DUI or reckless driving within the last 5 years
- 6No SAP participants
- 72+ years local heavy equipment transport experience preferred
- 8Proven safe driving record
- 9Pass background checks and drug screening
- 10Willingness to work Monday–Friday with possible overtime and weekends if requested
