Overview
Join Action Road Solutions as a Heavy Duty Towing Operator and become a First Responder on San Francisco highways. You will operate Class A CDL tow trucks to safely recover 18-wheelers, dump trucks, and cement trucks. As part of a rapid-response team, you will solve unpredictable roadside challenges in all weather conditions. This role goes beyond driving with daily equipment inspections and yard maintenance, offering stability and community impact.
What You'll Do9
- 1Respond to dispatched calls, arriving safely and on time to provide roadside assistance.
- 2Perform damage-free towing of heavy-duty vehicles including 18-wheelers, garbage trucks, and dump trucks.
- 3Execute minor roadside repairs and accident scene clean-up with safety as the top priority.
- 4Communicate with dispatch, providing accurate ETAs and vehicle status updates.
- 5Inspect the tow truck daily for safety and equipment readiness, completing the pre-shift checklist before duty.
- 6Report any damaged or missing tools or equipment immediately to the supervisor.
- 7Drive defensively, obeying traffic laws, wearing a seatbelt, and maintaining a 4-second following distance.
- 8Maintain truck fluids at manufacturer standards and keep the truck clean and fueled to half tank.
- 9Keep the storage yard clean and secured, disposing of trash properly.
Requirements8
- 11+ years operating a heavy-duty tow truck or hauling equipment via semi-trailer, or equivalent heavy equipment experience.
- 2Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record and no automatic transmission restriction.
- 3Pass DOT medical exam and meet all state-based licensure requirements.
- 4Reside near assigned area to meet customer service response times.
- 5Ability to bend, stoop, walk, and stand in all weather conditions.
- 6Willingness to pass drug test and background check.
- 7Proficiency in mobile and computer applications for administrative tasks, and paper-based documentation.
- 8Confidence driving in inclement weather and making quick decisions under pressure.
