Headway seeks a Staff Software Engineer to own experimentation infrastructure at scale. This role drives platform ownership while supporting rapid iteration across eleven teams. What You'll Do11
- 1Design and build core primitives for experiment assignment and user recognition
- 2Evaluate and consolidate feature flagging architecture using LaunchDarkly and Statsig
- 3Integrate AI-driven validation and monitoring for experiment setups
- 4Expand market-based testing capabilities for geographic analysis
- 5Establish experiment data pipelines with clear ownership and documentation
- 6Gather team needs and prioritize initiatives through clear decision-making
- 7Maintain trustworthy results through rigorous statistical methodology
- 8Debug complex measurement issues across traffic splitting and exposure tracking
- 9Lead technical direction for platform-wide assignment and exposure systems
- 10Mentor senior engineers and influence design across backend services
- 11Drive platform evolution through design documents and cross-team collaboration
Requirements10
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 2Proficiency in Python 3 and TypeScript libraries
- 3Experience with React and Remix frameworks
- 4Familiarity with AWS services including Fargate ECS S3 and CloudFront
- 5Knowledge of container orchestration and serverless architectures
- 6Exposure to cloud data warehouses like Snowflake and Redshift
- 7Background in distributed systems and observability tools
- 8Understanding of multi-sided marketplace dynamics
- 9Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems
- 10Ability to work across distributed teams and geographies
