Headway Billing Infrastructure Engineer
Overview
Headway seeks a Product Manager to lead development of a unified billing platform transforming mental healthcare payment systems. You will own two connected halves of the billing platform ensuring accurate appointment processing and financial data integrity while enabling scalable solutions for providers nationwide.
What You'll Do7
- 1Define billing state machine enforce handoffs and guardrails to prevent breakage
- 2Build trusted datasets dashboards and general ledger outputs for finance and accounting
- 3Own billing platform architecture and roadmap including ledger reconciliation and data integrity systems
- 4Partner with data and engineering to monitor payment health and drive systemic fixes
- 5Collaborate with finance accounting and compliance to ensure trustworthy financial reporting
- 6Serve as platform foundation for provider payouts payer collections and pricing systems
- 7Drive architectural decisions and act as a bridge between engineering operations and accounting language
Requirements5
- 18+ years building billing platforms ledgers or accounting systems preferably in healthcare fintech or marketplaces
- 2Proven ability to dive deep with engineering teams on complex technical problems
- 3Strong communicator who translates ledger reality into actionable insights for diverse audiences
- 4Experience with complex payment flows and real-time financial data challenges
