Overview
Own the entire field hockey program at Stuart Country Day School, a private school in Princeton, NJ, for the fall season. You will plan and lead every practice, prepare the team for competition, and mentor student-athletes in a positive, inclusive environment. Working closely with athletic leadership, you will shape the team's culture and skill development over a 12-week season.
What You'll Do9
- 1Plan and lead organized practices Monday–Friday from 3:30–5:30 PM, focusing on fundamental skills and game strategy.
- 2Develop players' technical skills, game awareness, and tactical understanding through drills and scrimmages.
- 3Prepare the team for competition, including in-game coaching and adjustments.
- 4Build strong relationships with student-athletes, serving as a mentor and role model.
- 5Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and personal growth among the team.
- 6Adapt coaching techniques to meet varying skill levels and individual needs.
- 7Communicate professionally with school athletic leadership, families, and student-athletes.
- 8Manage team logistics, including equipment, schedules, and communication throughout the season.
- 9Represent Stuart Country Day School positively in all interactions.
Requirements8
- 1Previous field hockey playing and/or coaching experience.
- 2Knowledge of field hockey fundamentals, strategy, and player development.
- 3Ability to lead practices and manage a team independently.
- 4Strong communication skills to build relationships with athletes and parents.
- 5Commitment to developing athletes both as players and individuals.
- 6Ability to create a competitive yet positive and inclusive team environment.
- 7Availability for the full season from August 17 to November 6, 2026.
