Google Cloud Platform Engineering Lead
Overview
You will own the internal platform capabilities that enable secure and scalable application onboarding on GCP. You will lead platform engineering delivery in production-grade environments, focusing on automation, golden paths, and security guardrails. What You'll Do7
- 1Design and implement automated onboarding pipelines for applications on GCP, reducing manual effort and enabling self-service.
- 2Build and maintain golden paths that standardize application deployment, incorporating Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD best practices.
- 3Enforce security guardrails by integrating policies and compliance checks into the platform, ensuring secure baselines.
- 4Lead platform reliability initiatives, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response, to maintain high availability.
- 5Drive governance and cost optimization by implementing tagging, budgeting, and resource hierarchy controls.
- 6Collaborate with application teams to identify pain points and continuously improve platform capabilities.
- 7Mentor platform engineers and promote a culture of automation and operational excellence.
Requirements7
- 15+ years in platform engineering or DevOps with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform.
- 2Proven experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- 3Strong background in building and operating internal developer platforms or golden paths.
- 4Hands-on experience with policy-as-code tools such as OPA or Kustomize for security guardrails.
- 5Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Stackdriver, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- 6Familiarity with agile methodologies and leading cross-functional platform teams.
- 7Excellent communication skills to drive adoption and align with stakeholders.
