General Manager, Steak 'n Shake Frisco
Overview
You own the full P&L of a single Steak 'n Shake restaurant, driving sales growth, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence across all shifts. With a team of 50-100 managers and associates, you implement company procedures, manage costs, and ensure compliance with food safety and labor laws. This role reports directly to the Division President, with support from HR and field training, and requires a leader who can coach, develop, and hold teams accountable to Gold Standard service.
What You'll Do9
- 1Drive sales growth and guest traffic by implementing Steak 'n Shake procedures and monitoring the Field Results Report to exceed year-over-year targets
- 2Lead, train, and develop a management team of Restaurant Managers, Shift Managers, and Trainers, using formal and informal coaching to improve performance
- 3Own all hiring decisions, using Select the Best tool to recruit associates who embody the 3 I's: Intensity, Integrity, Intelligence
- 4Manage restaurant costs, including labor, food, and supplies, to deliver positive cash flow and meet financial metrics
- 5Ensure strict compliance with food, health, safety, and sanitation standards, including ServSafe and Gold Standard procedures
- 6Execute the 14-point walk to maintain a radiant facility and coach associates on quality, speed, and hospitality
- 7Approve schedules using the Labor Scheduling System, ensuring 100% staffing and adherence to budget parameters
- 8Resolve guest concerns immediately using the L.E.A.R.N. recovery model
- 9Conduct weekly, period, and quarterly inventories, posting accurately into the Food Management System
Requirements8
- 1High School graduate or equivalent; ServSafe certified
- 2Certified in all Service and Production Stations at Steak 'n Shake or equivalent experience
- 31-3 years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume, fast-casual environment
- 4Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop teams to meet operational and financial goals
- 5Strong analytical skills to interpret Labor Reports and Field Results Reports
- 6Able to work 50+ hours per week, standing, walking, and lifting 30 lbs
- 7Valid driver's license and ability to legally operate a motor vehicle
- 8Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a customer-first mindset
