Overview
Build and scale production web applications for a logistics client in Lisle, IL. Own full-stack features from database to UI, shipping code that handles high-volume data. Work with React, Next.js, and Node.js on a cross-functional team of engineers and product managers. This contract role offers long-term engagement and direct impact on core systems.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build responsive user interfaces with React and Next.js that handle real-time data updates and complex state.
- 2Design and implement RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express to support frontend features and third-party integrations.
- 3Optimize application performance by profiling and tuning React components and server-side rendering.
- 4Debug production issues across the stack, tracing errors from browser console to database logs.
- 5Collaborate with product managers to turn requirements into technical designs and deliver within sprint cycles.
- 6Write unit and integration tests using Jest and React Testing Library to ensure code reliability.
- 7Ship code to production on a weekly basis, using Git for version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- 8Refactor legacy code to improve maintainability and adhere to modern JavaScript standards.
Requirements9
- 15+ years of professional experience building full-stack web applications.
- 2Strong JavaScript fundamentals including ES6+, async/await, and modular patterns.
- 3Hands-on React experience with hooks, context API, and component lifecycle.
- 4Production experience with Next.js and server-side rendering.
- 5Backend proficiency with Node.js, Express, and REST API design.
- 6Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
