Overview
Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers. Own freight handling using motorized and manual equipment, verify documentation, secure freight, assist customers, comply with regulations. Perform hostling duties if required. What You'll Do9
- 1Perform freight handling using forklift pallet jack and hand truck
- 2Verify documentation matches freight description using electronic or manual system
- 3Secure freight inside trailers using pallets straps rope
- 4Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary
- 5Complete required documentation and reports
- 6Assist customers with freight and documentation as needed
- 7Perform hostling duties if required
- 8Comply with applicable laws and company policies
- 9Assist with other duties as required
Requirements7
- 1High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 2At least 18 years of age
- 3Prior experience in warehousing freight handling or forklift operations preferred
- 4Ability to lift hand freight varying weights multiple times weekly
- 5Ability to lift dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds
- 6Ability to open trailer doors requiring approximately 75 pounds of lift force
- 7Physical ability to bend twist squat push pull freight throughout shift
