Forklift Operator - Sit Down Forklift & Lumber
Overview
You will operate a sit down forklift to load and unload lumber products for customer orders in a North of Boston lumber yard. Working within a team atmosphere, you will handle 50-70 lb materials while outdoors 80% of the shift. This role requires mechanical aptitude and attention to detail to complete daily tasks accurately. You will communicate with coworkers to ensure orders are filled correctly and on time. The position offers stable weekday hours (8am-4pm) with pay at $24-$25/hr.
What You'll Do8
- 1Operate a sit down forklift to move lumber products and fill customer orders.
- 2Load and unload trucks and storage racks with precision and care.
- 3Follow daily task lists to prioritize order fulfillment and yard organization.
- 4Communicate with team members to coordinate loading and unloading activities.
- 5Inspect lumber for damage and report discrepancies to supervisors.
- 6Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to safety protocols.
- 7Use basic math skills to verify counts and measurements for accuracy.
- 8Assist in inventory counts and stock rotation as needed.
Requirements9
- 1Previous experience operating a sit down forklift.
- 2Ability to lift 50-70 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
- 3Experience working in a lumber yard or similar outdoor environment (preferred).
- 4Comfortable working outside 80% of the time in varying weather conditions.
- 5Mechanical inclination and ability to follow directions precisely.
- 6Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- 7Positive attitude and customer service mindset.
- 8Basic math skills for accurate counting and measuring.
- 9Must pass a drug screen and background check.
Salary Insight
