Overview

You will own the service repair needs for Smiths Detection security screening equipment in the San Francisco SFO airport area. You will install, repair, and maintain Trace and X-Ray technologies, driving customer satisfaction and documenting all work. This role requires daily travel to customer sites and close coordination with senior FSEs and Product Managers. You will ensure tools and test equipment are calibrated and participate in site surveys and revenue programs. This is a hands-on field role with federal security vetting through TSA.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Install, repair, and maintain Trace and X-Ray security screening equipment at customer sites near SFO airport.
  • 2Drive customer satisfaction by meeting daily service repair needs and providing on-site training to customer staff.
  • 3Document all inspections, maintenance, and repair work, submitting paperwork in a timely manner.
  • 4Order, install, and return parts to manage repair parts cycle time.
  • 5Review logs for open issues and prepare formal reports for customers as needed.
  • 6Participate in service sales opportunities and promote revenue programs.
  • 7Calibrate and maintain tools and test equipment to ensure precision.
  • 8Assess equipment performance from field data and recommend modifications or improvements.
  • 9Provide technical support to customers and other service professionals as required.

Requirements8

  • 11-3 years experience in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems.
  • 2Associate's Degree or related trade certification in electrical, electronic, or mechanical fields, or equivalent military training.
  • 3Computer literacy, including competency in MS Office Suite and ability to learn specialized software.
  • 4Possess Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access and pass a federal background investigation through TSA.
  • 5Must be willing to travel at short notice and work non-standard hours as needed.
  • 6Ability to lift and carry 80 lbs, push and pull 200 lbs, and move equipment up to 1000 lbs with assistance.
  • 7Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to handle stressful situations.
  • 8Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable, with strong organizational skills.
