Field Investigator Job in New York | Ethos Risk Services
Overview
You will own covert surveillance investigations for insurance fraud detection across New York, capturing high-quality video evidence with camcorders and covert cameras. You will work alone in your vehicle, tracking targets from early morning, and submit court-ready reports daily. This role requires a valid Private Investigator license or willingness to obtain one, and a reliable personal vehicle. You will receive mentorship from field supervisors while operating independently in the field.
What You'll Do5
- 1Review case files and prepare surveillance plans using Ethos preliminary reports.
- 2Conduct mobile and stationary surveillance, capturing video evidence with handheld camcorders and covert cameras.
- 3Draft detailed investigative reports summarizing findings and activity for client review.
- 4Upload video footage and submit case reports via personal laptop at end of day.
- 5Coordinate with field supervisors and operations teams for daily assignments and guidance.
Requirements7
- 11+ year field surveillance experience with covert techniques and video evidence.
- 2Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
- 3Reliable personal vehicle, preferably with tinted windows.
- 4Handheld camcorder with high-quality zoom and a covert camera device.
- 5Stabilization equipment (gimbals, tripods) preferred.
- 6Laptop, cell phone, and internet service for communication and reporting.
- 7Active Private Investigator license or willingness to obtain one where required.
