Overview

Deliver comprehensive primary care to a diverse patient population as a Bilingual Spanish Family Nurse Practitioner at a leading NYC community health organization, in a new partnership with Medspan near Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Serve patients of all ages in a 100% outpatient setting, with a guaranteed 40-hour week and overtime at time-and-a-half. This role offers the chance to develop specialty interests in Women's Health, LARC/IUD Management, HIV/Hepatitis Care, and Addiction Medicine, backed by an established NP residency program. What You'll Do9

  • 1Provide primary care across the lifespan, from pediatrics to geriatrics, in an outpatient clinic serving a diverse, predominantly Spanish-speaking population.
  • 2Develop and manage an independent patient panel, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions including Hypertension, Diabetes, and Asthma.
  • 3Perform Women's Health services including family planning, LARC/IUD insertions, and preventive screenings.
  • 4Deliver HIV/Hepatitis care including testing, treatment, and ongoing management for patients with these conditions.
  • 5Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of Physicians, RNs, and Social Workers to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • 6Document all patient encounters in Epic EMR, ensuring compliance with FQHC reporting requirements.
  • 7Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at improving chronic disease outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • 8Educate patients on preventive care, disease management, and healthy lifestyle choices, using Spanish as the primary language when needed.
  • 9Handle one rotating evening per week and one Saturday per month, ensuring continuity of care for patients with extended-hour needs.

Requirements9

  • 1Master's Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program.
  • 2Board Certified as an FNP by AANP or ANCC.
  • 3Bilingual Spanish fluency, with ability to conduct patient interviews and document in Spanish.
  • 4Experience treating patients across the lifespan, with recent pediatric and women's health exposure within the past year.
  • 5New York State NP license (or in process) and DEA registration; CSR preferred.
  • 6Minimum of 6 months of NP experience; stronger experience (1+ years) preferred.
  • 7Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • 8Comfort working in a fast-paced community health center environment with a diverse patient mix.
  • 9Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Spanish.
