Facility Technician Job in San Francisco, CA
Overview
You serve as a key member of the Workplace Services team, handling hands-on facilities and workplace operations for a corporate environment. You own mailroom, shipping, building requests, furniture moves, and common-area upkeep, while covering front desk and access card administration. You work with Microsoft Office and web-based property systems. This contract role offers potential conversion to regular employment based on performance and business needs.
What You'll Do9
- 1Process mailroom and shipping for FedEx, UPS, USPS, and courier packages, including interoffice mail.
- 2Coordinate building work orders and service requests through property management systems, following up with engineers and vendors.
- 3Support workspace moves and reconfigurations, assembling and adjusting office furniture and ergonomic equipment.
- 4Troubleshoot and repair office furniture, equipment, and appliances, escalating complex issues.
- 5Maintain common areas, kitchens, and conference rooms, stocking supplies and joining deep cleaning projects.
- 6Support on-site meetings and events, arranging rooms and furniture, and tearing down after.
- 7Cover front desk Tuesday–Thursday mornings, greeting visitors and routing calls.
- 8Administer access control key cards per security standards.
- 9Participate in quarterly deep cleaning and occasional weekend projects.
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or equivalent; vocational coursework in facilities preferred.
- 23+ years supporting facilities, office services, or workplace operations in a corporate setting.
- 3Ability to lift 50 pounds and participate in team lifts.
- 4Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- 5Strong customer service and communication skills with all employee levels and vendors.
- 6Proven organizational skills and attention to detail, managing multiple priorities.
- 7Demonstrated mechanical aptitude for furniture assembly and basic repairs.
- 8Knowledge of shipping processes and workplace safety procedures.
- 9Team-oriented and available for occasional weekend support.
