Vortex Industries seeks an Experienced Commercial Door Technician with 4+ years of door industry experience to own installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial doors, docks, and hardware across Phoenix. You'll work on a variety of complex service calls, from storefront glazing to automatic doors, with training in welding available. What You'll Do8
- 1Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial doors, docks, and hardware, including automatic doors, storefront glazing, and dock equipment.
- 2Diagnose and fix issues such as broken springs, hinges, locks, and electrical components on manual doors and hollow metal frames.
- 3Configure door hardware: locks, handles, closers, low-voltage wiring, and access control systems.
- 4Ensure all installations meet safety and building code regulations and standards.
- 5Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs, offering cost-effective solutions, and addressing inquiries.
- 6Maintain accurate service records, reports, and time logs for each visit.
- 7Perform quality checks on all work to meet Vortex's quality standards.
- 8Drive a company vehicle to customer sites and manage your schedule efficiently.
Requirements9
- 14+ years of experience in the commercial door service industry.
- 2AAADM certification preferred.
- 3Excellent mechanical and technical skills with proficiency in hand and power tools.
- 4Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform math with fractions.
- 5Physically able to lift 50 lbs or more, climb ladders up to 20 feet, and work on knees for extended periods.
- 6Interpersonal skills to relate to customers and solve issues under any condition.
- 7Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with attention to detail.
- 8Knowledge of safety regulations and adherence to protocols.
- 9Valid driver's license and ability to pass drug, background, and motor vehicle checks.
