ESL Teacher (Part-Time) K-8 in Philadelphia
Overview
You will deliver targeted small-group ESL instruction to English language learners in Kindergarten through 8th grade, helping them build language proficiency while supporting their success in the general education curriculum. Working across two school days (Tuesdays and Thursdays), you will manage around eight instructional groups and tailor lessons to each student's language and academic needs. You will join a collaborative team at ENSPIRE Consulting Group that partners with schools in the Greater Philadelphia region to provide high-quality educational support. Your role focuses on fostering confident, inclusive learning environments where multilingual learners thrive.
What You'll Do8
- 1Teach small-group ESL lessons for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, covering speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
- 2Reinforce grade-level academic content while supporting English language development in your first 90 days.
- 3Develop differentiated lesson plans that address individual students' language proficiency levels and academic goals.
- 4Assess student progress and adjust instruction using data-driven practices, with a focus on reading comprehension and written language for grades 5-8.
- 5Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom where students feel confident taking academic risks.
- 6Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to align ESL instruction with classroom objectives.
- 7Communicate student progress and instructional goals with parents and guardians as appropriate.
- 8Maintain accurate records of instruction and student progress.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree in Education, TESOL, Linguistics, or a related field.
- 2TESOL or TEFL certification (required).
- 3Experience teaching English as a Second Language in a school setting.
- 4Strong organizational and classroom management skills.
- 5Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 6Ability to differentiate instruction for students with varying language proficiency levels.
- 7Collaborative mindset and passion for helping multilingual learners succeed.
- 8Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- 9Ability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods, and use a computer and instructional technology.
- 10Reliable transportation is required.
