Equipment Technician I Swing - Penumbra
Overview
You will own the setup and maintenance of Penumbra's manufacturing and test equipment, ensuring peak uptime in a regulated medical device environment. You'll handle preventative maintenance, on-demand repairs, and IQ/OQ validations, working alongside senior technicians to solve equipment-related production issues. This role is central to maintaining the quality system that supports life-saving neurovascular products, offering hands-on experience with cleanroom and lab environments.
What You'll Do9
- 1Perform and document preventative maintenance and on-demand repairs, following QMS procedures to keep equipment running smoothly.
- 2Collaborate with technicians to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues on the production floor, reducing downtime within the first 90 days.
- 3Install new equipment and complete IQ/OQ validations to ensure proper functionality and compliance.
- 4Use the spare parts system to track inventory, ordering parts as needed to maintain accurate stock levels.
- 5Assemble equipment and fixtures to documented prints, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications.
- 6Support manufacturing line moves and equipment relocations, coordinating with the team to minimize disruption.
- 7Adhere to the Quality Management System (QMS) and global regulations, ensuring all maintenance activities meet audit standards.
- 8Assist senior technicians and engineers in solving equipment-related manufacturing problems, contributing to process improvements.
- 9Participate in weekly overtime as needed, including weekends, to meet production demands.
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or GED with 1+ years in a medical device or manufacturing environment, or equivalent education and experience.
- 2Background in medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industries preferred.
- 3Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to document and coordinate with the team.
- 4High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, especially when completing maintenance logs and IQ/OQ paperwork.
- 5Proficiency with Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for reporting and tracking.
- 6Excellent organizational skills, able to prioritize assignments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- 7Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally, and climb ladders up to 12 feet.
- 8Willingness to work onsite in general office, laboratory, and cleanroom environments, with potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
