Environmental Technician I - Veolia
Overview
Design and execute hazardous waste handling processes while supporting integration of Clean Earth into Veolia. Lead segregation packaging and transportation of materials. Manage inventory of hazardous substances according to regulations. Ensure accurate record keeping. This role drives operational efficiency and compliance within Veolia's extensive network of facilities.
What You'll Do5
- 1Segregate and package material for transport
- 2Assist in maintaining inventory and storage of hazardous materials following regulations
- 3Operate forklifts and mobile equipment to move containers between storage and treatment zones
- 4Complete required documentation accurately and legibly
- 5Perform additional duties as directed by management
Requirements11
- 1Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday
- 2Experience standing and walking on uneven surfaces for extended periods
- 3Visual acuity to read labels and documentation with depth perception for safe forklift operation
- 4Hearing vehicle warnings and responding appropriately
- 5Willingness to work outdoors in all climates and indoors in non-climate controlled spaces
- 6Ability to wear company-issued PPE including safety glasses hard hat steel toe shoes gloves Tyvek coveralls and respirator
- 7High School diploma or GED
- 8Basic computer skills for web-based training
- 9Strong English communication abilities
- 10Reliable attendance and availability for night shifts weekends and variable schedules
- 11Capacity to handle occasional irregular hours
