Environmental Project Manager, OER/BCP Remediation
Overview
Own environmental remediation and brownfield redevelopment projects across New York City's five boroughs, from planning through completion. Lead site investigations, regulatory compliance, and technical documentation under NYCOER and NYSDEC Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) frameworks. Coordinate field teams, manage project financials, and serve as the primary client liaison. This role blends office and field work, offering direct exposure to high-profile NYC cleanup initiatives and a clear path to senior project management.
What You'll Do7
- 1Prepare and review technical reports including Remedial Action Work Plans (RAWP), Site Management Plans (SMP), and Investigation Work Plans for NYCOER and NYSDEC BCP projects.
- 2Coordinate with regulatory agencies such as NYSDEC and NYC OER to ensure project approvals and compliance.
- 3Manage project financials: budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and cost tracking to keep projects on budget.
- 4Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, updating them on progress and addressing concerns.
- 5Oversee subcontractors and field staff, directing soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and community air monitoring (CAMP) activities.
- 6Implement and enforce safety, environmental, and quality standards across all project phases.
- 7Support proposal writing, scope development, and project planning for new business opportunities.
Requirements6
- 1Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline.
- 24+ years of field experience in construction oversight, CAMP, soil sampling, and groundwater sampling.
- 3Hands-on experience supporting Brownfield Cleanup Program projects and New York State cleanup initiatives.
- 4Proven ability to write technical reports, including remedial action plans, closure plans, Phase I and Phase II site assessments.
- 5Experience with report writing, financial budgeting, and client management in an environmental consulting context.
- 6Ability to split time between office and field settings, with a standard work schedule of 9-5.
