Overview
Own specimen handling and molecular extraction in the Monogram lab at Labcorp in South San Francisco. You will manage sample prep, operate LIS systems, and maintain quality standards in a per diem role. Collaborate with Molecular Lab, Research and Development, and Client Services. This role offers hands-on experience in a clinical diagnostics lab with flexible hours.
What You'll Do9
- 1Receive and log specimens into LIS, verifying data accuracy
- 2Operate lab instrumentation and record daily readings and function checks
- 3Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and document actions
- 4Complete QA documents and follow SOP procedures
- 5Prepare samples through aliquoting, beading, lysing, and molecular extraction
- 6Manage inventory control and practice aseptic techniques
- 7Communicate with Molecular Lab, Research and Development, and Client Services
- 8Comply with safety and infection control policies
- 9Support creation of new Standard Operating Procedures
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- 21+ years of lab experience (preferred)
- 31+ years with molecular biology techniques (preferred)
- 41+ years in a clinical diagnostics lab (preferred)
- 5Understanding of aseptic techniques and specimen handling
- 6Experience with SOP, QA, and QC standards
- 7Strong computer skills with Microsoft Word and Excel
- 8Excellent organizational and communication skills
- 9Ability to work flexible hours, including Thursday-Sunday shifts
- 10Pass a standardized color blindness test
