Engineering Associate I - Street Resurfacing Projects
Overview
The Engineering Associate I will lead engineering drafting efforts for street resurfacing projects at San Francisco Public Works. You will prepare engineering drawings and coordinate with the Streets & Highways Section to ensure accurate documentation. This role drives project execution while supporting team objectives.
What You'll Do11
- 1Prepare engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D for street resurfacing projects
- 2Conduct field investigations and integrate topographical survey data into design models
- 3Review and verify engineering drawings for accuracy and compliance with standards
- 4Develop and enforce CAD drafting procedures and BIM standards
- 5Assist in creating cost estimates and quantity takeoffs for engineering projects
- 6Process contractor shop submittals and maintain comprehensive document files
- 7Perform trigonometric calculations and mathematical analyses for drafting tasks
- 8Operate drafting equipment and perform routine maintenance on production tools
- 9Respond to public inquiries and coordinate with agencies regarding project details
- 10Generate engineering reports and field documentation
- 11Drive vehicle to and from job sites as needed
Requirements5
- 1Minimum 5 years civil engineering drafting experience with CAD/BIM systems
- 2At least 2 years in technical engineering drafting roles comparable to Class 5362 Engineering Assistant
- 3Valid California driver’s license
- 4Autodesk Certified Professional & Expert certificate or equivalent education
- 5Thorough understanding of drafting standards and municipal code requirements
