You will own overnight emergency and urgent care for a growing community hospital, expanding services from a well-established daytime practice. Work alongside a skilled support team to set protocols and workflows, shaping a new service from day one. DVM license in Florida is required. What You'll Do8

  • 1Build the overnight emergency service, defining triage protocols and workflow with the team.
  • 2Deliver emergency and urgent care for critical cases, stabilizing and treating patients through the night.
  • 3Lead surgical interventions for emergency cases, from exploratory laparotomies to wound repairs.
  • 4Diagnose using in-house lab, digital radiology, and ultrasound, interpreting results in real time.
  • 5Collaborate with the day team to ensure seamless handoffs and continuity of care.
  • 6Mentor support staff on emergency procedures and patient management.
  • 7Drive service growth by refining protocols based on outcomes and client feedback.
  • 8Document cases thoroughly in the medical record system.

Requirements8

  • 1DVM degree from an accredited university.
  • 2Active Florida Veterinary License, or eligibility to obtain.
  • 3Current DEA License or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • 4USDA Accreditation or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • 53+ years experience in emergency or urgent care, or strong demonstrated interest.
  • 6Proficiency in emergency surgery and critical care procedures.
  • 7Comfort working overnight shifts, with a preference for night owl schedule.
  • 8Strong communication and teamwork skills, able to lead in a fast-paced setting.
