Overview
GITAI seeks an Electromechanical Technician to build and integrate electrical and mechanical hardware for space robotics and defense systems. The role involves turning one-off prototypes into repeatable processes while traveling to remote field locations. What You'll Do8
- 1Build and integrate electrical and mechanical hardware including cable harnesses connectors sensors motors actuators and mechanical assemblies
- 2Perform soldering crimping wiring mechanical assembly rework inspection and basic troubleshooting
- 3Work directly with engineers to identify design issues and develop repeatable assembly processes
- 4Create and improve work instructions assembly records inspection steps fixtures and tooling
- 5Support hardware testing failure investigation repair and modification
- 6Travel to field and test sites including desert locations to assist with hardware setup operation and teardown
- 7Maintain high standards for workmanship safety ESD FOD and configuration control
- 8Develop assembly procedures for novel systems where drawings and protocols may not yet exist
Requirements8
- 13+ years of hands-on experience in electromechanical assembly prototype fabrication hardware integration or manufacturing
- 2Strong skills in soldering crimping cable harness fabrication connector termination mechanical component assembly motors actuators sensors mechanisms and enclosures
- 3Ability to interpret mechanical drawings electrical schematics wiring diagrams pinout tables and bills of materials
- 4Proficiency with electrical test equipment hand tools torque tools and precision measurement instruments
- 5Comfort working in fast-moving environments with evolving designs and processes
- 6Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
- 7High school diploma or equivalent practical experience
- 8U.S. citizenship required for clearance eligibility due to ITAR regulations
