EDA License Engineer
Overview
Manage and optimize engineering software licenses for FlexLM FLEXnet servers in Linux environments. Ensure compliance, access control, and performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Drive automation and reliability improvements.
What You'll Do7
- 1Own daily operation and lifecycle management of FlexLM FLEXnet EDA license servers including installs upgrades renewals rereads decommissioning
- 2Diagnose license availability checkout and performance issues using lmstat debug logs and operational telemetry
- 3Partner with EDA tool owners infrastructure teams and security collaborators to maintain license compliance access control and export restrictions
- 4Enhance reliability and observability via automation monitoring and data analysis of license usage trends
- 5Lead or own projects to improve licensing workflows tooling or operational scalability
- 6Create documentation operational runbooks and guidelines for knowledge sharing
- 7Serve as technical point of contact for license-related incidents impacting engineering efficiency
Requirements13
- 1Strong hands-on experience with FlexLM FLEXnet licensing server configuration license files daemons and troubleshooting
- 2Familiarity with Reprise License Manager preferred
- 3Solid Linux system administration skills RHEL CentOS process management logging networking basics scripting
- 4Experience operating production infrastructure with high availability reliability expectations
- 5Ability to work independently exercise sound technical judgment
- 6Demonstrated collaboration across teams communication with technical non-technical stakeholders
- 7Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent
- 85+ years relevant experience
- 9Automation experience using Python shell scripts or Ansible
- 10Knowledge of license allocation methods options files dedicated license pools batch scheduling like License Scheduler
- 11Support for EDA toolchains such as Synopsys Cadence Siemens
- 12Exposure to security export-control or access restriction requirements in shared compute environments
- 13Prior ownership of infrastructure projects improving reliability scalability or operational efficiency
