Early Care Specialist, ECE & bilingual focus
Overview
Own the development of children in a licensed program with 2+ years guiding early learners and a bilingual capability. What You'll Do10
- 1Build engaging early childhood experiences aligned with licensing standards and DRDP outcomes
- 2Design and implement age-appropriate activities for diverse learners and language backgrounds
- 3Lead classroom routines, observations, and documentation to inform instruction and family communication
- 4Ship program initiatives that improve child outcomes and family engagement within a licensed setting
- 5Own compliance with health and safety, CPR/First Aid, and background clearance requirements
- 6Scale collaboration with team members to support continuous program improvement and staff development
- 7Drive data-informed planning using DRDP results and observational records
- 8Support bilingual communications with families in English and other preferred languages
- 9Coach junior staff and volunteers to maintain consistent quality across classrooms
- 10Coordinate with operations to ensure licensing, permits, and student records are up to date
Requirements9
- 1Must have current CA Driver License, clean MVR, vehicle insurance, and a reliable vehicle
- 2Current CPR & First Aid certification and Health & Safety in Child Care Setting course
- 3Authorization to work in the US and successful background checks including fingerprinting
- 4Minimum ECE Specialist I education: 12 ECE/CD units with core courses; 24 ECE/CD/HD units preferred; CDA or higher permit required
- 5ECE Specialist II education: AA/AS in ECE/CD/HD or 24 ECE/CD/HD units with core courses plus 16 GE units and 6 specialization units; Teacher permit or higher required
- 6One year of teaching experience in a licensed child care setting for Specialist I; two years for Specialist II and DRDP experience
- 7Ability to pass pre-employment physical, TB clearance, and immunization requirements
- 8Must be authorized to work in the US and able to travel if needed
- 9Must provide a copy of current permit and unofficial transcripts during application
