Child Development Specialist
Overview
The Child Development Specialist at Family Health Centers of San Diego leads developmental screenings and curriculum-based assessments for children ages 0–5 years. What You'll Do11
- 1Conduct developmental screenings and curriculum-based assessments for children ages 0–5 years
- 2Interpret assessment results and communicate findings to parents and caregivers
- 3Develop, document, and implement individualized treatment plans and Home Activity Plans
- 4Align treatment goals with IFSP objectives for children receiving SDRC funding
- 5Provide developmental intervention services through sessions groups and home visits
- 6Engage caregivers to support participation and follow-through
- 7Coordinate care with primary care providers and regional center staff
- 8Monitor patient progress and adjust interventions with supervisors
- 9Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and IFSP reviews
- 10Complete clinical documentation accurately and timely
- 11Maintain compliance with departmental and legal standards
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Child Development Psychology Education or related field
- 2Master’s degree preferred
- 3Experience with infants and maternal/infant dyads
- 4Familiarity with diagnostic tests and child-parent interaction programs
- 5Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS)
- 6Valid California driver’s license and automobile insurance
- 7Ability to travel between clinic sites
- 8Knowledge of Early Intervention techniques and Developmentally Appropriate Practices
- 9Bilingual English-Spanish proficiency at designated sites
- 10Demonstrated commitment to community medicine and culturally competent care
- 11Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
