Dual Language Immersion Teacher 6th Grade
Overview
Lead the academic social and emotional growth of students while reporting directly to the building principal. Guide curriculum development and collaborate with stakeholders to support the Dual Language Immersion Program.
What You'll Do11
- 1Create and implement Dual Language Curriculum
- 2Provide individualized and whole group language instruction
- 3Develop academic language for student success across content areas
- 4Evaluate and maintain student records including grades and attendance
- 5Design lesson plans aligned with Indiana/WIDA/ISTE standards
- 6Maintain an attractive classroom environment conducive to language learning
- 7Teach core content areas in the target language using Indiana Academic Standards
- 8Integrate English and target language in grade level instruction
- 9Collaborate with staff administrators and parents on cultural programs
- 10Work with diverse students and families respecting cultural backgrounds
- 11Perform other duties as assigned by administration
Requirements15
- 1Bachelor's degree in education
- 2ENL/ESL Endorsement preferred
- 3Indiana educator's license current
- 4Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish
- 5SIOP and WIDA training
- 6Demonstrated oral and written fluency in both languages
- 7Experience in second language acquisition or bilingual education
- 8Ability to teach content in Spanish
