Driver Per Diem, Senior Living Transportation
Overview
At Youville House, our Drivers do more than transport residents: they create experiences, foster independence, and build connections. You will safely drive seniors to medical appointments, community outings, and special events while providing concierge-style service. Joining the Programs Team, you coordinate with staff and support daily activities. This role offers a meaningful Monday-Friday schedule with benefits starting day one, working directly with elderly residents in a supportive community.
What You'll Do8
- 1Transport residents safely to appointments, errands, and community outings using the community van.
- 2Operate and maintain the vehicle fleet, keeping it clean and reporting maintenance concerns promptly.
- 3Assist with resident activities, special events, and programs, including escorting wheelchair users.
- 4Provide concierge-style service to residents and their families, answering questions and offering support.
- 5Support the reception desk and answer phones as needed, handling clerical and administrative tasks.
- 6Help coordinate emergency procedures and fire drills, ensuring resident safety at all times.
- 7Maintain accurate records of trips and communicate important information to the team.
- 8Create a warm, welcoming, and engaging environment during every transport and interaction.
Requirements7
- 1Valid Massachusetts Driver's License and a safe driving record meeting Youville Place standards.
- 2Ability to safely transport residents and navigate to various destinations using maps or GPS.
- 3Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist residents with mobility needs, including wheelchair transfers.
- 4Strong communication and customer service skills, with patience and compassion for elderly passengers.
- 5Ability to stay calm and respond effectively in emergency situations.
- 6Experience working with older adults is preferred, along with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- 7Basic to advanced computer skills for scheduling and record keeping.
