You will own the daily care and safety of dogs at Paws-itive Experience in Rockaway, NJ, managing groups of all breeds and sizes as the pack leader. Youll engage dogs in play, enforce safety rules, and maintain a clean, stimulating environment. Working alongside attendants, supervisors, and trainers, youll ensure every dog has a positive experience. What You'll Do8
- 1Supervise and interact with dogs during indoor and outdoor play sessions, ensuring safety and positive social dynamics.
- 2Lead group activities as pack leader, redirecting unwanted behaviors with gentle, consistent techniques.
- 3Clean and sanitize play areas, kennels, and feeding stations to maintain a hygienic facility.
- 4Feed and water dogs according to schedule, monitoring individual dietary needs and intake.
- 5Administer basic first aid or report injuries to management, following safety protocols.
- 6Communicate with pet parents about their dog's day, including eating, behavior, and any concerns.
- 7Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth shift transitions and coverage for all dogs.
- 8Maintain inventory of supplies like waste bags, cleaning products, and toys, restocking as needed.
Requirements9
- 11+ year experience in a dog daycare, kennel, or pet care setting, or demonstrated animal handling skills.
- 2Reliable car for commuting to Rockaway, NJ and occasional off-site errands.
- 3Ability to lift 30-40 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.
- 4Warm, caring, and friendly demeanor with a professional appearance.
- 5Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
- 6High energy and comfort working with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and breeds.
- 7Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays.
