Director of Software Support Engineering at Capital One
Overview
Lead the engineering teams responsible for reliability availability and continuous operational health of critical platforms. Oversee support ecosystem for web mobile applications RESTful microservices core back-end Java systems and big data pipelines. Bridge gap between development and operations. Leverage experience in diagnosing debugging maintaining technologies such as Node.js Java GO AngularJS React Python Ruby Perl. Champion operational excellence by driving modern observability tools automated recovery solutions and robust CI/CD practices. Expect to drive velocity of teams and improve system resilience scalability and security.
What You'll Do11
- 1Lead manage and grow multiple teams of product focused software engineers
- 2Mentor and guide professional and technical development of engineers
- 3Work with product managers to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios
- 4Continuously improve software engineering practices within Agile teams
- 5Design develop implement and support technical solutions across full stack development tools and technologies
- 6Bring passion to stay on top of tech trends experiment with new technologies participate in internal and external technology communities
- 7Encourage innovation implementation of cutting edge technologies inclusion teamwork self organization and diversity
- 8Improve velocity of your and other teams
- 9Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS environments
- 10Break existing monolithic applications into micro service architectures and build new microservices
- 11Collaborate across teams to enhance velocity and system robustness
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s Degree
- 2At least 7 years’ experience in software development
- 3At least 5 years’ experience in people management
- 4Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred
- 510+ years’ of experience in software development
- 65+ years’ of experience in Agile practices
- 7Experience leveraging interactive AI tooling to accelerate productivity beyond basic code completion
- 8Capital One sponsorship available for qualified applicants
- 9Salary range $244700 - $279200 for Chicago and Plano locations
- 10Performance based incentive compensation available
