Overview

The Director of Procurement leads vendor management, RFP processes, and procurement policy implementation for the school district at scale. This role partners with educators, administrators, and support staff to ensure compliant, cost-effective purchasing that supports student outcomes. You will oversee PO issuance, solicitation management, and district procurement standards while reporting to the Executive Director of Business Services. This position emphasizes ethical procurement and adherence to state and federal guidelines.

What You'll Do10

  • 2Direct solicitation management from specification development through bid evaluation and award
  • 3Oversee purchase order issuance and adherence to district standards and policies
  • 4Develop, implement, and monitor procurement policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • 5Supervise staff performance, deliver training, and evaluate procurement personnel
  • 6Prepare reports on supplier performance, cost analysis, and market trends for leadership review
  • 7Stay current on federal and state procurement laws and district policies to ensure compliance
  • 8Assist CFO with board reporting and procurement information at meetings
  • 9Manage surplus property disposition and year-end purchasing processes
  • 10Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize procurement workflows

Requirements6

  • 1Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, or related field
  • 2NIGP CPP certification or obtain within 5 years of employment
  • 3Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in government procurement
  • 4Excellent written and oral communication, analytical, leadership, planning, and organizational skills
  • 5Knowledge of procurement laws and district policies and ability to develop procedures
  • 6Experience supervising procurement staff and implementing procurement controls
