Genentech seeks a Director Occupational Hygiene to lead occupational hygiene excellence across its South San Francisco campus. What You'll Do11
- 1Provide comprehensive oversight and strategic leadership for all campus occupational hygiene programs encompassing industrial hygiene biosafety radiation safety and chemical safety
- 2Ensure full compliance with local state and federal regulations while identifying control strategies and leading root cause analysis for physical safety incidents
- 3Lead coach and develop a high performing team dedicating significant time to staffing and operational excellence
- 4Align site specific safety objectives with global Roche sustainability policies adapting to evolving site operations
- 5Serve as principal occupational hygiene advisor to senior leadership translating complex strategies into actionable business goals
- 6Cultivate collaborative relationships with cross functional business partners participating in divisional global or corporate teams
- 7Architect and implement long term occupational hygiene strategies and robust contingency frameworks to proactively mitigate operational risks
- 8Serve as key lead for regulatory inspections and manage disciplinary processes
- 9Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to address emerging health and safety challenges
- 10Mentor and guide occupational hygiene professionals fostering technical growth and professional development
- 11Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance overall safety culture and employee well being
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering physical science life science engineering occupational safety or related field
- 212+ years of progressive relevant work experience in Safety Health and Environment SHE roles within site or corporate functions
- 3Deep working knowledge of industrial hygiene monitoring methods and hazard control specifically within biotechnology pharmaceutical industry
- 4Professional certification as a Certified Industrial Hygienist CIH is highly preferred
- 5Concrete understanding of state Cal OSHA CDPH federal OSHA NIOSH and ACGIH regulations and consensus standards applicable to GMP and non GMP environments
- 6Strong interpersonal skills enabling negotiation with regulatory agencies and senior operations leaders
- 7Experience leading occupational hygiene teams and providing technical guidance and mentorship
- 8Expertise in chemical safety industrial hygiene biosafety and radiation safety program management
- 9Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as Roche Corporate Safety Health and Environment policies
- 10Ability to operate effectively in a fast paced environment
Salary Insight
$170 - $315k per year
